OSASUNA coach Jose Angel Ziganda said he expected a lot more from Rangers in their Uefa Cup last-16 tie.

Rangers were beaten 1-0 in Pamplona to go out 2-1 on aggregate, after two disappointing performances against the Spaniards.

The Glasgow giants had shone earlier in the competition by finishing top of their group and then seeing off Israeli side Hapoel Tel-Aviv 5-2 on aggregate, but they barely seemed to get going against Ziganda's men.

Ziganda said: "I think these have been the two weakest games they have played, in all the ones that I have seen.

"We have played a good round. I think the key is that we surprised Rangers at Ibrox and here."

Ziganda, whose side grabbed the winner through Pierre Webo after 71 minutes, also felt his side had struck a blow for smaller clubs by knocking Rangers out of the Uefa Cup.

"We really deserve this because we have been better overall than Rangers, and we shouldn't forget that they are a very powerful team with a very high budget, probably three times more than ours," a delighted Ziganda added.

"We were very focused on the game, and we were convinced and confident we could win. I think one of the keys was we didn't let them get into the match.

"I think we deserved our credit because we played better in both matches with our overall performance.

"They were probably expecting a tight game here in the second leg in Pamplona - this is one of the better matches that we have played."
