MOVES to tackle a cash dilemma facing the dying victims of asbestos were today welcomed by a campaigning solicitor.
Frank Maguire who represents hundreds of ex-workers struck down by mesothelioma praised MSPs for their support.
He helped draft the Rights To Damages Bill which will stop sufferers having to choose between claiming damages for themselves or waiting so relatives can claim more after their death.
Glasgow-based Mr Maguire said: "This is a great example of how devolution really works."
Frances Curran, who is a West of Scotland list MSP, backed the new bill on behalf of the SSP. She said Holyrood had a responsibility to victims and their families, especially in hotspot areas such as Inverclyde, Renfrewshire and West Dunbartonshire.
