BILLY REID thinks Dundee United will be gunning for Hamilton Accies this weekend.

Accies beat Craig Levein's side on their opening game of the season, then again in the Homecoming Scottish Cup at New Douglas Park.

Now Reid has urged his side to go all out for another win over the Arabs.

He believes his problems with players are starting to ease, with Simon Mensing and Tomas Cerny back from suspension, while Trent McClenahan could be back in contention for a start.

"It was always going to be hard if we lost key players, and it so happened that we lost four or five at the one time," said Reid.

"For a club and squad of this size, that was always going to be difficult.

"We are starting to get a few bodies back now and the feeling among the squad is great. No-one is talking about relegation or getting sucked into the fight at the bottom.

"But equally we are not stupid. We know these are seven massive matches ahead and we need to fight for everything we can get.

"I am sure Dundee United will come here all guns blazing because we have had the better of them a couple of times this season.

"I expect they'll be pretty fired up for it, but so will we."

Accies lost heavily at Celtic Park last week but Reid believes there has been no hangover in the wake of that defeat.

"There has certainly been no adverse effect on our squad from that defeat because we weren't expected to take anything from it.

"I don't know if we are ready yet as a club to feel as though we can mix it with the Old Firm just yet, but we feel we are equipped to stay in the SPL.

"We were at the bottom of the table, three points adrift at one stage this season, so we know what that feels like and proved that we could handle it.

"There is always pressure but we feel that if we take it one game at a time, then we can get the results we need."
