ST MIRREN have slapped a £1m price tag on the ead of star midfielder Andy Dorman.

Rangers are tracking the 26-year-old, although there has been no move from the Ibrox club.

Dorman has scored 11 goals this season, and is contracted to St Mirren until 2010.

"There's no doubt he will be attracting attention but there have been no concrete enquiries," said Saints boss Gus MacPherson.

"If he continues to score and play well, there will be interest. Then that becomes a decision for the directors."

MacPherson insists only Rangers know if they are playing mind games with Dorman ahead of tomorrow's Homecoming Scottish Cup semi-final between the sides.

There are echoes of Celtic's pursuit of Dundee United's Willo Flood before January's Co-operative Insurance Cup semi-final, in which the midfielder missed the decisive penalty in a shoot-out.

MacPherson has seen no sign of Dorman being affected in the same way. "I've not seen it," he said. "I don't think the players would allow that.

"The way they deal with it, like any dressing room, is with a bit of banter. He handles it very well. He's a relaxed, laid-back guy."

Asked if the speculation was mind games on the part of Rangers, MacPherson said: "It may be - only Rangers could answer that."

Ibrox No.2 Ally McCoist admits Dorman will be the one to watch when Rangers face the Buddies.

But he claimed there are no plans at the moment to make a move for the Saints ace.

"He's a very good player," said McCoist, "I've watched him a few times, as I have the entire St Mirren side.

"He has something that a lot of midfielders don't have, the ability to make a late run into the box, find space and finish.

"Do I think he could crack it at Ibrox? Well, he would have to sign here first.

"To my knowledge, there is nothing imminent at all in that department."
