Albion goalkeeper David Stockdale hit back at critics after the Wigan defeat.
Stockdale kept the Seagulls in the game just before half-time when they were 1-0 down by denying James McClean in a one-v-one.
James Perch forced in Wigan’s winner after Stockdale reacted to keep out a cross diverted towards his own net by Dale Stephens.
Some fans took to the internet to blame the Yorkshireman, who has had a mixed first season.
The former Fulham keeper, responding on twitter on Saturday night, said: “Just asking some people why it’s my fault we lost? Is it sarcasm? When did I drop a clanger today?”
Other supporters leapt to Stockdale’s defence and he later thanked the fans who travelled to Lancashire.
