Adrian Colunga’s proposed summer exit route from Albion could be under threat after a troubled return to the Spanish league.

Granada are believed to be having second thoughts on making his loan stint more permanent after his first months with them were plagued by injury, suspension and poor form.

Colunga remains on the sidelines for tonight’s Liga BBVA game at home to Espanyol after four weeks out with a calf muscle problem.

It is thought relegation-threatened Granada will only take up their option to keep him if there is a significant improvement in performances on his return.

The former Getafe man, signed by the Seagulls last August on a two-year deal, returned to Spain in January after dropping down the pecking order under Chris Hughton.

He is expected to leave the wage bill for good this summer but could require another destination after struggling to make an impact with Granada.

Before suffering his injury he was victim of a harsh red card in a defeat at Levante and subsequent two-game ban.

Alberto Flores, leading Granada reporter for Cadena Ser radio station, said Colunga’s time back in Spain had been “unfortunate – he has hardly played and, when he has, his performances have been poor so the normal thing would be he doesn’t stay.”

Granada are expected to make a definitive decision after their season ends in late May.

Meanwhile, Le Havre striker Mickael Le Bihan has played down reports in France linking him with interest from the Seagulls.

The Argus revealed recently that newspapers including leading sports daily L’Equipe had reported contact between the two clubs over the second division’s 16-goal top scorer.

However Le Bihan, formerly with Sedan, has told an Argus source in Le Havre that his priority is to secure a move to the French top flight.
