Middlesbrough have decided not to risk top scorer Patrick Bamford against Albion.
The 17-goal striker on loan from Chelsea has been left out of their 18-man squad at the Riverside today.
Bamford is protecting an ankle problem ahead of the play-offs.
Former Albion loanee Mustapha Carayol is among the subs.
Kike leads the Boro attack in their 4-2-3-1 set-up and Adam Forshaw comes on to the left wing.
There are also changes in both full-back berths.
Left-back Greg Friend is suspended and right-sided colleague Ryan Fredericks is also absent.
Dwight Tiendalli, on the right, and Fernando Amorebieta start.
Middlesbrough: Konstantopoulos; Tiendalli, Ayala, Gibson, Amorebieta; Clayton, Leadbitter; Adomah, Tomlin, Forshaw; Kike. Subs: Ripley, Whitehead, Carayol, Reach, Vossen, Omeruo, Nsue.
