ALBION are poised for a summer transfer spending tonic if Leo Ulloa helps keep Leicester City in the Premier League.

The Seagulls are due a windfall from the £10 million deal which took Ulloa to the East Midlands in July.

Albion received £8 million from the sale of their Argentinian hitman.

A further £2 million relates to additional clauses, including Leicester retaining top-flight status after winning the Championship last season.

Argus sources have suggested Albion’s cut if Leicester stay up could be as much as £1 million.

Ulloa made a flying start for the Foxes with five goals in as many appearances, including a point-saver against Arsenal and a double against Manchester United.

He has returned to scoring form with six more goals since Christmas, including another double against imploding Newcastle earlier this month.

Saturday’s 2-0 success at home to Southampton was the sixth win out of seven for Nigel Pearson’s rejuvenated Leicester side.

Ulloa faces former Albion team-mates Liam Bridcutt and Will Buckley at fellow strugglers Sunderland this Saturday.

Another victory in their penultimate game will guarantee Leicester’s survival and trigger a cash bonus for boss Chris Hughton in his quest to turn Albion back into Championship promotion candidates.
