Albion will launch the 2015-16 season against Nottingham Forest at the Amex on August 8.

The Championship fixture list has thrown up an immediate revenge mission for Chris Hughton in his first full season in charge of the Seagulls.

Albion were beaten 3-2 by Forest in February early into Hughton's reign as ex-Crystal Palace and Bolton boss Dougie Freedman made a winning start as manager of the visitors.

Israeli midfielder Beram Kayal, likely to be a key figure in Hughton's quest to turn the club's fortunes around, headed Albion back into contention in the closing stages on his debut as a substitute.

The Seagulls make the short trip to Craven Cottage a week later for their first away league game at Fulham, where they won last season at Christmas under caretaker Nathan Jones.

That follows the midweek away match at League One newcomers Southend United in the Capital One Cup.

A midweek assignment at Huddersfield, three days after the Fulham fixture, completes an early hat-trick of away outings.

Steve Bruce's Hull are the first of the sides relegated from the Premier League to head to the South Coast, on September 9, Steve Cotterill's Bristol City the first of the promoted teams on Tuesday October 10.

A six-match December looks particularly tough. It includes tests against Derby, QPR and the three sides beaten in the play-offs, Middlesbrough, Brentford and Ipswich.

Albion go to Brentford on Boxing Day, where they won in the FA Cup in January in Hughton's first game at the helm.

April is the busiest month, when seven games include a midweek journey to one of Hughton's former clubs Birmingham.

Albion finish for the second season in succession with a trek to Middlesbrough, hoping this time it will be them heading into the play-offs rather than the hosts.
