Albion have pulled off a coup by landing Liam Rosenior to strengthen their defence.

The versatile 30-year-old, released by Hull following their relegation from the Premier League, has joined the Seagulls on a free transfer and signed a three-year deal.

Rosenior can operate at right-back, where Albion currently have Bruno or Inigo Calderon, or the problem left-back position he occupied for Hull in the 2014 FA Cup final against Arsenal. The left-back spot at the Amex is vacant following loan signing Joe Bennett's return to Aston Villa.

Boss Chris Hughton said: "He's a terrific professional, has a wealth of experience - which is something that is important for us - and during our negotiations showed a great desire to join us and be part of this club, despite some attractive options elsewhere."

Rosenior's Albion debut will be the 350th League appearance of his career in all four divisions after spells also for the 5ft 10ins Londoner and ex-England under-21 international with Ipswich, Fulham, Reading, Bristol City and Torquay, where dad Leroy was on the Seagulls' shortlist when he was manager.
