Albion are on course to sign Israeli international striker Tomer Hemed.

The 28-year-old scored eight times last season for Almeria, who were relegated from Spain’s top flight Liga BBVA on the final day of the campaign.

He previously played for Real Mallorca, scoring a total of 19 goals in two top-flight seasons.

If the move is completed, he would be following the path trodden by former Albion hero Leo Ulloa, who joined the club from Almeria in January 2013.

Hemed is 6ft 1in and well known for his ability in the air.

He has one year left on his contract at Almeria and is believed to have a buyout clause of one million euros.
