Las Palmas could be tempted to offer Adrian Colunga a route back to the Spanish top flight.
But the Albion attacker’s future remains in limbo as he spends pre-season with Chris Hughton’s squad.
The Canary Islanders are preparing for life back in the top flight after winning a promotion play-off on away goals just three weeks ago.
They were keen on Colunga when he was available for loan in January but boss Paco Herrera eventually decided six-footer Alfredo Ortuno better fitted their requirements at the time.
Ironically Ortuno’s departure from Granada helped the top flight strugglers bring in Colunga for an ill-fated loan stint.
Las Palmas are believed to remain interested in Colunga, who played for the club in 2007-08, but would be reluctant to pay a fee.
Meanwhile The Argus understands Albion have made an enquiry for Blackburn winger Ben Marshall.
But sources in Lancashire played down reports that a £1.5 million bid has been tabled.
Marshall cost Rovers £750,000 from Leicester City in 2013 and is highly valued at Ewood Park.
