ADRIAN COLUNGA still appears to have no future with Albion, days away from the transfer window shutting.

The Spanish striker was not involved in Tuesday’s Capital One Cup 2-1 defeat at Walsall.

Colunga has not featured in the side since making two brief sub appearances in the early stages of manager Chris Hughton’s 30-match reign before returning to Spain towards the end of last season on loan to Granada.

And with Bobby Zamora on the cusp of relaunching his second spell with the Seagulls to supplement Hughton’s strike force, Colunga will be even further out of the picture.

Hughton said: “If I look at the options I have up front, Tomer (Hemed) has formed a good relationship with Sam Baldock and Chris O’Grady is desperate to play and to make an impact if he comes on.

“There is no doubt Colunga is a player of ability but we have lots of players of ability. He trains well every day and we’ll see where that takes him.”

The Argus revealed yesterday that Albion are interested in further boosting their attacking options by signing Watford forward Matej Vydra on loan.
