Kazenga LuaLua says he is in the best form of his career.

But Albion’s goalscoring winger is determined not to fall away after a prolific start to the season.

LuaLua completed a Seagulls double as he was named Sky Bet Championship player of the month for August while Chris Hughton took the managers’ prize.

He has already hit four league and cup goals and been heavily involved in three others after becoming a regular starter as a genuine winger under Hughton this term.

LuaLua said: “To score four goals in one month has to be the best form of my career but I need to make sure I carry it on until the end of the season, not just one month. It has to be every game.

“It’s a nice thing to win but for me the most important thing is it’s a team game. I wouldn’t win this without my team-mates so I’d like to share it with all my team-mates, the staff and everybody.”

LuaLua believes Hughton is the key to his best ever form.

He said: “The gaffer knows the way I play from Newcastle.

“This season it’s just about working hard. It’s not just about when you’ve got the ball.

“You’ve got to know how to defend as well. For me it’s working well but it’s only a short time.”

He added: “You want to be in the starting 11 every game.

“I know myself I can play 90 minutes of football but people think in different ways. Every manager has their own opinions.”
