Chris Hughton has played down Albion’s need for loan signings – unless they pick up injuries.

The loan window opens tomorrow and the Seagulls have plenty of room for manoeuvre given all their summer additions have been permanent transfers.

Hughton, though, believes he currently has the squad to give him tough selection decisions – starting at home to Hull City on Saturday.

Asked if he plans a quick move into the loan market, the Albion boss said: “Not at this moment. You can never legislate for any injuries you might get but I think we have covered all areas over the summer.”

Hughton could face big calls ahead of the visit of the second-placed Tigers with Lewis Dunk and Jamie Murphy among those pushing for a return to the starting XI.

He added: “I always have a big decision to make because every game is a different game. Every team I pick, you want it to be a tough call. The tougher the decisions, the more competitive the squad is – and we have that at the moment.”
