GORDON GREER has forgotten about his future in a bid to make it third time lucky in the play-offs with Albion.

The 35-year-old captain is out of contract at the end of the season but the only thing on his mind is tonight’s first leg at Sheffield Wednesday.

Greer told The Argus: “I’m quite good at that.

“I’m just focused on what’s in front of us. At the moment that’s Friday night. It’s an easy focus when you’ve got such a big game.

“Obviously, when everything comes to an end, we’ll find out where we’re going to be, where I’m going to be, where everybody else is going to be, but at the moment it’s all about the team.”

Greer, back for his first appearance since January in last Saturday’s promotion decider at Middlesbrough in place of the banned Lewis Dunk, is confident the Seagulls can make amends for missing out in the play-offs in 2012-13 and 2013-14.

“This year we’ve proved we are a good side,” he said. “We were unlucky not go up automatically, so there’s a lot of belief we can do it. It’s a great opportunity for us to do something special.”

Greer and Sheffield rival Barry Bannan have been named in the Scotland squad for friendlies away to Italy on May 29 and France on June 4 but Albion winger Jamie Murphy has been excluded.

Greer or Bannan will miss the Italy match, which takes place the day after the play-off final.

Albion’s No.3 goalkeeper Christian Walton has been left out of the England under-21s squad for the Toulon tournament.
