ALBION boss Chris Hughton has called on the Amex faithful to roar his depleted team to Wembley.

He has urged the crowd to pump up the volume this evening against Sheffield Wednesday.

Hull or Derby await the winners in the Championship play-off final on May 28, with Hull firmly in the driving seat after winning the away leg 3-0.

Wednesday, 2-0 up, are also hot favourites to go through but Hughton without ten players through injury, suspension and unavailability, says the home fans can make a difference.

He told The Argus: “There’s no doubt they have been excellent all season. They’ve had a bit to cheer about because of the way the team have gone about things.

“But if ever there was an occasion where you want them to bump it up another ten per cent then it’s now.

“That is in no way detrimental. I’ve said in my programme notes all season how much we’ve appreciated the support we’ve had. They’ve been very good but if ever there was an opportunity to pump it up it’s tonight.”

Albion faced raucous atmospheres at Hillsborough in the first leg and in their automatic promotion decider at Middlesbrough six days earlier.

Hughton said: “We have ours as well and we’ve had some really good occasions this season when the roof has come off, particularly earlier in the season when we scored late to beat Charlton. We’re looking for that extra ten per cent tonight.

“We are very conscious that what goes on on the pitch determines whether you win or not but there’s no doubt there is an advantage to playing at home with the crowd.

“You look at some classic European nights at Liverpool and everyone speaks about the crowd helping them to win a game. It does have an effect.”

Connor Goldson (thigh), Steve Sidwell (knee), Anthony Knockaert (ankle) and Tomer Hemed (hamstring) were injured in the first leg.

They join long-term victims Bobby Zamora and Steve Sidwell on the sidelines, while Dale Stephens is suspended and Rohan Ince, Jake Forster-Caskey and Chris O’Grady unavailable under the terms of their loan stints with Fulham, MK Dons and Nottingham Forest respectively.
