Premier League champion Leo Ulloa urged Albion to fulfil their promotion dream next season and told them: “Everything is possible.”

The former Seagulls frontman has told The Argus of his sadness at seeing his old club miss out on the top-flight.

But he is confident they have the potential to match many of the clubs he has come up against in two Premier League seasons since leaving The Amex.

Ulloa, who scored six league goals as 5,000-1 shots Leicester won the title, said: “It was so sad for me, what happened to Brighton.

“They had a very good season and in the last game didn’t win.

“They are going the right way. They need to keep going because they were nearly there and next year, if they have the same philosophy, the same group, the same character, maybe they can go the Premier League.

“Everything is possible and the example is us!

“Everyone thinks we can’t do this and we did it.”

Ulloa, who refers to both Leicester and Albion as “we”, watched his old club draw 1-1 at Middlesbrough on a television at the King Power Stadium before playing in his current team’s 3-1 win over Everton and receiving his Premier League medal. He said: “Brighton played early and we watched it at the stadium, in the pre-match room.

“I talk to Bruno and Calde (Inigo Calderon) every three or four days.

“They were so sad because they fought to the end.

“We’ve played three play-offs now but we need to try again next year.

“For me Brighton is a very good place to be in the Premier League. It’s a good city, they have a very nice, beautiful stadium.

“They have very good fans and an amazing training ground. They need to be in the Premier League.”
