Albion are preparing to keep tabs on talent on show at Euro 2016.

But The Argus understands they would be unlikely to move for a player because of his showings in France.

The Seagulls have yet to make their first move in what promises to be the toughest summer transfer window for years.

They will be represented at the Championships, which kick off tomorrow with France taking on Romania in Paris, as they keep tabs on players across the Channel.

Increased parachute payments for clubs leaving the Premier League, the abolition of emergency loans and the arrival in the Championship of two giant clubs in Aston Villa and Newcastle mean Albion, and many of their rivals, are facing the most testing summer for some time in terms of recruitment.

But the Seagulls are happy the vast majority of their talent-spotting and research has been completed.

Barring an exceptional opportunity, it is understood their plans will not be affected by what happens in the Euros.

Four years ago, then Albion boss Gus Poyet eyed Czech right-back Theodor Gabre Selassie before ruling him out just ahead of Euro 2012, partly because of a £2 million transfer fee.

Albion snapped up free agent Bruno instead.

Seagulls star Jiri Skalak arrived with the Czech Republic squad at Chateau Belmont, their base in Tours, yesterday ahead of Monday’s fixture against Spain in Toulouse.
