JAKE FORSTER-CASKEY’S Albion nightmare could end with a move to Championship rivals Rotherham United.

The former England under-21 midfielder has attracted firm interest from the South Yorkshire club, The Argus understands.

New Millers chief Alan Stubbs is keen to add more poise to his options in the centre of the park.

Forster-Caskey has gradually fallen out of favour at Albion and is eager to re-ignite his career.

He had two loan spells at MK Dons last season as his inactivity with the Seagulls cost him his international place with the Young Lions.

Dale Stephens and Beram Kayal were a dominant partnership for Chris Hughton’s side and, with Steve Sidwell re-signed, there is little chance of Forster-Caskey’s first team prospects improving at the Amex.

If Forster-Caskey moves to the Millers he will be in line for an an early return. Albion are at home to Rotherham in their third league game of the season on August 16.

Meanwhile, fellow midfielder Andrew Crofts, released by Albion at the end of last season, is on trial at relegated Charlton, now managed by ex-Seagulls boss Russell Slade.
