Albion have been told they could have a “fantastic” goalkeeper on their hands at the end of the season.

Christian Walton is set to go up against his parent club when the Seagulls visit Luton Town today.

The England under-21 international will spend this term on loan with the Hatters and boss Nathan Jones reckons the time is right for him to make big progress.

Walton suffered a frustrating 2015-16 but Jones told The Argus: “He has a fantastic pedigree.

“We are looking forward to trying to get the best out of Christian because, if we do, we will have a fantastic goalkeeper on our hands.

“There were one or two loans for him which maybe didn’t work out as well as people would have wanted.

“But you can’t always have amazing times. It is how you learn from the bad ones and build a career.

“It has stood Christian in good stead and hopefully this is the right place for him to kick on and fulfill the potential he undoubtedly has.”

Glenn Rea goes up against his old club at Kenilworth Road but Craig Mackail-Smith is sidelined by an ankle injury.
