Chris Hughton expects Dale Stephens to come back firing after missing today’s trip to Reading.
He is also hoping for good news on Liam Rosenior after his right-back suffered an ankle injury when fouled by Yann Kermogant late in today’s 2-2 draw.
Hughton described Kermogant’s tackle, for which he was booked, as reckless.
The Albion boss clarified Stephens’ absence from the matchday 18 at Reading.
Hughton said: "He missed a good chunk of pre-season, was involved in three games but didn't have 90 minutes.
“He missed the first game of the season as well and the midweek cup game.
“I wasn't going to start him and we just felt he would get more value from a good day's training yesterday and today and be up firing for midweek and next Saturday.”
Albion played the last couple of minutes with ten men after Rosenior had to be helped off after being clattered by Kermogant.
Hughton said: “He is sore at the moment. I can't say it was intentional. Knowing the lad I don't think it was but it was reckless."
