DANNY HOLLA is keeping his options open after severing his ties with Albion.

The midfielder could return to Holland or remain in England after terminating his contract, due to expire next summer, by mutual consent.

Holla, 28, said on Twitter, said: “I’m happy and sad at the same time to leave this club.

“Brighton will always be special for me because my son (five months) was born here.

“I really enjoyed my first season, unfortunately it didn’t work out last year. I still wish the club and the fans all the best.

“Hopefully everyone achieves their dreams to go up this year. That’s what this club deserves. Now I’m ready for a new adventure.”

Albion signed Holla on a free transfer from Den Haag during the reign of Sami Hyypia.

He made the last of his 33 appearances for the club in Tuesday’s League Cup win at Oxford United.

Boss Chris Hughton said: “With the options and competition we have in midfield, Danny has found his chances very limited, and that situation is unlikely to change.

“It hasn’t really worked out as Danny or the club had hoped.

“That can sometimes happen but he has been really professional in his approach and his attitude to training has been first class throughout my time as manager.”
