Albion have handed on-loan left-back Sebastien Pocognoli his debut - and put three strikers in their starting XI.

The Seagulls have also brought back Connor Goldson for his first senior playing time in four months as they face Reading in the League Cup third round tonight.

Their side shows a full 11 changes to that which kicked off the win at Burton in the Championship on Saturday.

Goldson joins Uwe Huenemeier in central defence with youngster Rob Hunt and Pocognoli either side of them.

Former Reading loanee Glenn Murray and Elvis Manu are joined in attack by Sam Baldock, who features for the first time since being sent off at Newcastle in late August.

Six outfield players who started at Burton are named on the bench.

Reading also ring the changes, with eight in their XI following Saturday's excellent 2-1 win at Barnsley. Wideman Garath McCleary could not have played as he starts a three-game ban.
