Sam Baldock has saluted the finishing prowess of partner Glenn Murray after playing a key role in Albion's comeback win against Fulham.

Baldock levelled with a sweet volley from outside the box, his sixth goal of the season, then crossed for Murray to volley in his 11th of the campaign, all at home, in the 2-1 victory at the Amex.

Murray was left in glorious isolation in the middle of the box as the Fulham defence tried to catch him offside.

Baldock told The Argus: "I knew if I put the ball into the box Glenn was going to be near it. He's a great finisher and it was a lovely, first-time finish.

"The defender tried to step (up) and we couldn't believe it. We all checked at the linesman, we were delighted when we saw him running back to the centre circle."

Albion manager Chris Hughton and new assistant Paul Trollope's half-time instructions helped the Seagulls turn a poor first half display on its head as Fulham deservedly led through Kevin McDonald.

Baldock equalised from 19 yards, his fourth goal in his last nine appearances.

"It was a nice one," he said. "I tried not to hit it too hard, because I think when you do that your technique goes out of the window.

"I focused on a good contact with the ball and with that many bodies it was going to be hard for the keeper to see the ball. Fortunately he didn't.

"It was a tough first half for us. They are a good side, very expansive, very comfortable on the ball. We struggled to deal with their inter-changing of players. There always seemed to be an extra man somewhere.

"We addressed it at half-time and managed to come out and rectify what we saw as a bad first half performance.

"The message was to stay compact, stop players getting the ball on the half-turn in-between the lines. We know with the players we've got we'd get chances, so it was about being patient and not getting too frantic.

"It turned into a bit of a frantic at times but fortunately we got the two goals."
