CHRIS HUGHTON has played down the advantage of having Cardiff’s former manager by his side in Wales tomorrow.

Paul Trollope, sacked by Cardiff in October, returns to the principality for his first away match as Hughton’s new No.2.

Hughton said: “A massive part of it is going there, getting a good result and putting on a good performance. It’s not something I’ve spoke to Paul about but I’m conscious that he left the club not so long ago.

“There’s no doubt that he’d know some of their individuals better than what we would but it’s minimal. They’ve got a new manager (Neil Warnock) that will play a different way and ask different things of the players.

“With the resources at all clubs now, in regards to the analysts and the games we go through, there isn’t too much about teams and players that we don’t know.

“We go through things thoroughly here but, of course, Paul can tell us a little bit about each individual.

“But regarding their strengths and weaknesses, and the players they’ve got, I’d like to think our staff do a very good job.”
