Albion have revealed the cost of chasing promotion last season.
The club today announced a loss of £25.9 million for the 2015-16 campaign.
That final deficit is £15.5 million greater than the previous season, spent in the bottom half of the Championship.
The increase is largely down to a jump of almost £7 million in football costs, predominantly players’ wages, up to more than £30 million.
Their determination to hold on to their stars saw a profit of £6.3 million in the previous year on player trading become a £2.6million deficit, a change of almost £9 million.
The previous season’s figures had included big money deals which saw Leo Ulloa and Will Buckley leave the club.
Albion’s TV revenue increased by about £1 million to £5.5 million.
In his report to shareholders, chairman Tony Bloom re-iterated his commitment to taking Albion’s men and women into the top flight.
The club confirmed they adhered to financial fair play constraints.
