Seb Pocognoli has been praised for his part in another clean sheet for Albion.
The Belgian international on loan from West Brom replaced suspended left-back Gaetan Bong against Leeds at the Amex tonight.
He marked his full home league debut by helping the Seagulls to another shut-out, their 13th in 20 games.
Boss Chris Hughton told The Argus: "I thought he did very well considering he hasn't played a first team game since Ipswich away (September).
"He played in an under-23s game a couple of weeks ago and I'm really pleased we did that.
"That's what it's about, players coming in and doing well. I'd like to think we've got players challenging right through the team."
Pocognoli appears to have no future at West Brom, where his opportunities have been limited under Tony Pulis.
Hughton said: "At this moment he is on loan here until the end of the season. We'll assess it, we don't know where we will be.
"He's played two first team games, Ipswich away and here, and has done well in both of them."
