Anthony Knockaert cannot bear the thought of another promotion near-miss spoiling the best season of his career.

Albion's French winger visualises only the jubliation of going up and the same redemption he experienced with Leicester.

They missed out on promotion from the Championship in the play-offs, then went up as champions the following year.

A repeat is a possibility with the Seagulls. They are five points clear of Reading in third, with a game in hand, and a point behind Newcastle after Knockaert helped their dramatic comeback in Sunday's 3-3 draw at Brentford.

He has already scored ten goals, despite the death of his father temporarily affecting his form. He also tripled his number of assists by supplying the crosses for Shane Duffy and Tomer Hemed for both equalisers at Griffin Park on his 50th appearance for the club.

Personal satisfaction will, however, count for nothing if Albion end up falling short again after going so close to a top two finish last season.

Knockaert (below) told The Argus: "I don't want to talk about it if we don't. That would be a real disappointment for me personally.

The Argus: "I'm trying to bring everything I can to his team and I think it would be really hard for me mentally to say to myself we don't go up.

"That's why I don't want to think about that. I just want to think about promotion.

"I think about that every day at home. Sometimes I'm just watching TV and thinking about the table, because it's like a dream now for me to go up with this club.

"The club deserves it so much, all the people inside the club. It would just be something magic.

"I've tried to do my best. That's why I am on good stats already an there are still a lot of games. I will try to do even more and hopefully we will be there.

"Everyone knows how much we all want to get there. I can't wait if we go up to see all the smiles on our faces. The dressing room will be crazy with the atmosphere we have here.

"I can't wait to see all the people jumping around and being so happy."
