DAVID STOCKDALE 7

Continued his happy knack of making key saves when he blocked McGoldrick’s low drive late in the first half. Also denied Lawrence straight after the break.

BRUNO 8

Produced the moment of skill which got Albion back into the game as he contributed to the equalising spot kick. Another solid performance. Did what was needed at the back and strove to keep possession.

SHANE DUFFY 7

Made a key block of Huws’ shot in the second half but was beaten by Chambers when Ipswich went ahead from a set-piece. Would have loved to get a finishing touch in the other goalmouth - rather than a broken nose!

LEWIS DUNK 7

A pretty good evening’s work against Ipswich side who threatened at times. But was beaten by Lawrence when the latter tested Stockdale in the second half

SEB POCOGNOLI 7

Continues to do good work down the left and is a tidy footballer. Generally did his defensive chores and was coming forward in the second half.

ANTHONY KNOCKAERT 6

Given a chance to run at a wing-back who was booked in the first minute but did not cash in. Was an intermittent danger cutting inside and his best moment sent Baldock clean through.

STEVE SIDWELL 7

Rivalled Stockdale for save of the night when he somehow denied McGoldrick from point blank range. Got through plenty of work.

DALE STEPHENS 6

Busy again in midfield and a key man when Albion looked to impose a higher tempo. Win it and give it is his mantra as part of the midfield duo.

SOLLY MARCH 6

Moments of promise out wide but not the big impact this time, though he might have forced a penalty. Made way for Murphy in the push for a winner.

TOMER HEMED 7

So cool and precise from the penalty spot, this time in a pressure situation. That is a precious quality which in itself bumps his mark up but there was not a lot of chance to add to his series of open-play goals

SAM BALDOCK 6

Full of running and movement. That movement took him into a great position to put his side ahead but the shot allowed Bialkowski to save too comfortably.

SUBS:

Murray: So close to providing the winner with his shot off the inside of the upright.

Murphy: Made a difference down the left and caused Emmanuel big problems.

Akpom: Lots of bustle and good intentions.
