ALBION are determined not to ‘screw it up’ again as they chase their Premier League dream.

That is the message from chief executive Paul Barber in their latest bid for promotion from the Championship.

The Seagulls have finished in the top six in three of the last four seasons, but missed out each time.

Barber, speaking at a Sports Industry breakfast in London, said: “This is our time again.

“We screwed up the other three (seasons) so we need to do it this year. Players, coaches will inevitably beat themselves up for not getting what they set out to achieve but there is also a huge amount of learning.

“Certain things we might have done in the play-off campaign in 2012-13 we didn’t repeat in 2013-14.”

Albion, skippered by 36-year-old Spaniard Bruno, are currently second behind Tuesday’s visitors Newcastle with a cushion over the pursuing pack.

Barber said: “Some of the players within the squad probably realise that it might be their last opportunity so they are determined to do it.”

Albion lost almost £26 million last season, when they missed automatic promotion by a whisker. Making amends this time will transform their financial situation and remove the danger of Chris Hughton’s squad breaking up, with several star players targeted this term by Premier League clubs.

Barber added: “Overnight, it’s give or take £100m, literally. Someone mentioned the other day that £35m of it comes on the 1st July. If that’s the case I can’t wait if it does happen!

“The difference is huge and the disparity between the two leagues is enormous and that’s just down to the Premier League marketing a fantastic global proposition. We’d love to be a part of it.”
