Level-headed Chris Hughton could be Albion’s biggest asset in the heat of the promotion run-in.

That is the view of top scorer Glenn Murray as the Seagulls prepare for their trip to Leeds.

Murray believes the manager’s ability to keep an even keel in victory and defeat will be more valuable than ever in the weeks ahead.

Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports analyst David Prutton for SkyBet, Murray was asked what the key factor for Albion could be in the run-in.

He replied: “The gaffer - the way he is. His consistency, never getting too high, not getting too low.

“That’s exactly what we need in the last nine games.

“There will be a lot made of it if we lose a game.

“The press will be on us, other teams will be on us, especially if they catch up points on us.

“We need to maintain what we have been doing for the main part of the year and hopefully we get to where we want to be.”
