Albion central defender Shane Duffy has been named in the Republic of Ireland squad for three matches next month.

He is in Martin O'Neill's 37-man party for friendlies against Mexico in the US on June 1, at home to Uruguay at the Aviva Stadium three days later and against Austria in a World Cup qualifier at the same venue on June 11.

Duffy was ruled out of Albion's promotion run-in by a fractured metatarsal, sustained in the defeat at Nottingham Forest in March.

He is among 12 defenders in O'Neill's squad. They report for a three-day training camp behind closed doors in Fota Island Resort next Tuesday before linking up in Dublin and flying to New York for the Mexico friendly at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
