Albion will prepare for their Premier League debut with a showpiece friendly against European heavyweights Atletico Madrid at the Amex.

The Spanish giants are the opponents for the Seagulls' final and only home warm-up on Sunday August 6 (4pm).

The Premier League season starts the following weekend, with La Liga launching for Atletico a week later.

The ten-times La Liga champions will face Albion after playing in the Audi Cup in Munich against Bayern Munich and Liverpool on August 1 and 2.

Star names like midfielder Koke, who has just signed a new seven-year contract, will be on show, although French striker Antoine Griezmann wants to leave in search of silverware.

The side managed by former Argentina midfield enforcer Diego Simone said goodbye to the Vicente Calderon Stadium on Sunday with a 3-1 win against Bilbao.

Former Liverpool striker Fernando Torres scored two early goals as they finished clear in third place in the table behind Barcelona and champions Real Madrid, who knocked them out in the semi-finals of the Champions League.

Atletico, Champions League runners-up twice in the last four years, move into the 74,000-capacity Wanda Metropolitano next season.

Albion's penultimate friendly is in Europe five days before Atletico's visit against opponents yet to be confirmed.
