Albion cantered to a second pre-season win out of two today as they outclassed Harry Kewell's Crawley.

The 6-0 scoreline did not flatter Chris Hughton's Premier League newcomers against their League Two Sussex neighbours at a rain-sodden Checkatrade.com Stadium.

It was far more comfortable for the Seagulls - and far less physical - than against Fortuna Dusseldorf in Austria, as Hughton once again exploited his squad by using 22 players.

Solly March, operating in the injured Anthony Knockaert's right-wing role, side-footed Albion ahead in the fourth minute from Beram Kayal's pass.

The second goal on the half-hour was created and converted in Ingolstadt, as two of the new signings combined.

Markus Suttner's cross was volleyed in by former Bundesliga club team-mate Pascal Gross (below).

The Argus: Tomer Hemed, the subject of a rejected £4 million bid from Reading, tapped in the third in the 38th minute after March's shot hit a post.

It was the Israeli's second goal in as many games after scoring against Dusseldorf.

Jamie Murphy, the other player on target against the Germans eight days ago, followed suit in the 41st minute with a neat finish from Lewis Dunk's pass.

Rampant Albion's first half tally could easily have been doubled.

March and Hemed both spurned good chances, while Crawley keeper Glenn Morris made smart saves to foil Bruno and Beram Kayal.

The Seagulls' other signing so far, Australian goalkeeper Mathew Ryan, was a spectator in the opening 45 minutes before Niki Maenpaa took over between the posts as part of ten changes for the second half.

The only player given more than 45 minutes was Shane Duffy. The Republic of Ireland central defender could have made it 5-0, heading over a Jiri Skalak free-kick before Uwe Huenemeier replaced him just past the hour mark.

Another central defender, Connor Goldson, did make it five in the 67th minute, heading in a Skalak corner to celebrate his first outing on English soil since heart surgery.

It was six ten minutes later, Glenn Murray converting a penalty after Kaby Djalo upended him inside the box.
