Pascal Gross admitted he didn’t see his historic opening goal hit the net.
But the German was thrilled to net twice in a landmark 3-1 win for Albion over West Brom.
Goss scored the Seagulls’ first top-flight since Gordon Smith netted at Carrow Road 34-and-a-half years ago.
He netted from close range to finish a move he started by switching play from the right to Solly March on his left.
Gross said: “First time and first Premier League goal for Brighton, first win for us - it was a big day and game for us, we trained very hard and we deserved to win today.
“I’m very happy for my goal. I didn’t see it very clearly, there were some people in front of me, but I was happy that it was in so I could celebrate.
“It was perfect that we scored a second goal and it was perfect for us that we scored a third too.
“We train very hard and we want to earn something. In the last games we felt like we could win but we didn’t so it was very important we could get the win and three points.”
