Pascal Gross says Albion have given him licence to go for goal.

The German netted twice as the Seagulls beat West Brom 3-1 on Saturday.

Gross scored five times in 31 starts for Bundesliga outfit Ingolstadt last term.

He said: “I don’t know if I am really a goalscorer.

“Maybe I am more the type to make assists “But, in this system, I come into situations where I can shoot or make the last pass.

“I try to help the team with my quality.”
