Albion under-23s were held to their first draw of the season by Newcastle at Crawley tonight.
Simon Rusk's side had the better of a goalless stalemate which leaves them still a point behind the visitors in the table.
Norwegian Henrik Bjordal had a shot cleared off the line, Max Sanders struck the crossbar and England under-20s World Cup winning hero Freddie Newman made several fine saves for Newcastle.
Albion (4-2-3-1): Vose; Moore, Hall, Kerr, Cox; Barker, Collar; Ajiboye (Longman 78), Sanders, Ahannach; Bjordal. Subs not used: Collings, Cochrane, Cashman, Alzate.
