GAETAN BONG has vowed to blank his Everton mates in the quest for Premier League points.

The Albion left-back has revealed he will resist any temptation to chat to friends in the opposition camp before Sunday’s showdown.

He believes the Seagulls should be targeting three points from home games and would love to be a part of it when Ronald Koeman’s side visit.

Bong made his Premier League debut at Arsenal almost two weeks ago and spent a long time afterwards in conversation with the home side’s French defender Laurent Koscielny.

He previously played in the North West of England with Wigan.

Bong told The Argus: “I have mates at Everton but I will not call them.

“I will see them after the game.

“At Arsenal I had Koscielny and (Olivier) Giroud who are very good friends. But we didn’t speak before the game. I didn’t even call them. I wanted to concentrate on the game. This will be the same. We can always talk after the game. It is about rest and training.”

Bong became Albion’s left-back for home games in the promotion run-in last season while Sebastien Pocognoli tended to start away fixtures.

But Markus Suttner gave perhaps his best display for the club last time out at the Amex when Newcastle visited.
