Mathew Ryan is still on course to reach the World Cup finals with Australia.
But the Socceroos could face a nervy night in Sydney on Wednesday.
Australia drew 0-0 in Honduras in the first leg of their play-off tonight.
The sides meet again on Wedneday, at 8pm local time and 9am GMT.
The Aussies were generally on top and should have gone ahead.
But local idol Carlo Costly forced a sharp save from Ryan in the closing stages.
Costly got away down the inside-left channel and fired in a powerful shot which the Albion keeper pushed over the bar.
