TIM KRUL has warned Albion not to get carried away by their promising start in the Premier League.

The Seagulls will stay eighth after 12 games if they beat Stoke at the Amex on Monday night.

Back-up keeper Krul believes the table will be a more reliable guide by the time Albion visit his former club Newcastle for their final fixture of 2017.

The Dutchman, who made more than 150 Premier League appearances for the Toon, said: “You can’t get carried away.

“I remember a few years ago with Blackpool. They were top of the league for a while with Ian Holloway and they got relegated.

“The season is so long. In January you have played everyone, you can kind of see where you are at.

“At the moment you haven’t played everyone yet.

“After 38 games everything levels out and you deserve to be where you finish.”

Krul will be on the bench again against Stoke as cover for Mathew Ryan, providing the Australian comes through this morning’s World Cup qualifying decider against Honduras in Sydney.

Ex-Derby County goalkeeper Lee Grant makes his first Premier League appearance since April for Stoke in place of Jack Butland, who broke a finger on England duty.
