Mathew Ryan wants Australia to show the world what they can do after making it through to Russia.
The Albion goalkeeper helped the Socceroos reach the finals next summer with a 3-1 win over Honduras.
Ryan now has an exciting summer to look forward to as he enjoys a first Premier League season with the Seagulls.
The Aussies have adopted a more patient passing style, starting with distribution from the keeper, and Ryan hopes to see it pay off in the finals.
He said: “We wanted to change the philosophy of Australian football in the world and be a possession-based team.
“Now we’ve got the World Cup berth to show for it.
“We look forward to going to the World Cup and showing the world how Australia can play football.”
Ryan made a good save from Honduras favourite Carlo Costly late in a goalless first leg.
He had little to do in the return game in Sydney before being beaten in a scramble with almost the last kick.
By then a hat-trick from Aston Villa midfielder Mile Jedinak had put the Aussies out of reach.
Ryan now returns to England to complete his ten-day round-the-world trip.
The Aussies played 22 games in their qualifying programme Ryan said: “I’m so proud of the boys and our efforts and there is no better feeling!”
“There are no words to describe this. We did it the Australian way – the long way!”
