Stoke star Xherdan Shaqiri has saluted Albion's unity as he attempts to wreck a landmark appearance for Gaetan Bong.

The Swiss winger will be up against Gaetan Bong, on his 50th outing for the Seagulls, in tomorrow night's clash at the Amex.

Shaqiri (below), fresh from helping his country qualify for the World Cup finals, expects Albion to make it tough for Stoke to complete back-to-back away wins for the first time since October 2015.

The Argus: He said: "Brighton have started very well this season. It's surprising sometimes - much like Huddersfield too - they've started very well when nobody probably expected them to do so and that's a credit to them and the way they're playing.

"It isn't always easy coming up into the Premier League, but they have all the assets to be here - they have a big stadium, good fans and they'll want to keep making good performances.

"Brighton are a team that are united and play together as one, that's why they are achieving good things at the moment."

Stoke won their last away match 1-0 at Watford before a 2-2 home draw with Leicester.

Shaqiri, speaking to Premier League Productions, added: "We will go there to try and win the game, we have the quality to do that and we know we need to be together as well to get three points.

"We've shown that in recent games against Watford and Leicester, so we must take those performances onto the pitch on Monday night."
