Chief executive Paul Barber says Gaetan Bong has Albion's total support in his "racist" claim against Jay Rodriguez.
The Seagulls, according to a club statement, have asked the FA to "fully investigate" the Cameroon left-back's allegation that West Brom striker Rodriguez made a racist remark to him in Saturday's Premier League match at the Hawthorns.
Bong reported Rodriguez to referee Martin Atkinson, who has included the allegation in his report to the FA.
As part of FA procedures, Bong has subsequently confirmed the allegation and his desire for the FA to go ahead with an investigation.
Barber said: "Gaetan has the full support of everyone at the club through this process.
"The club will also assist The Football Association in their investigation, but at this stage we would prefer not to make any further comment until this process has concluded."
