Swansea boss Carlos Carvalhal today confirmed defender Alfie Mawson will be fit to face Albion.
But Leon Britton’s return to training has come too late to secure him a role at the Amex.
Mawson pulled out of last Saturday’s FA Cup tie at Sheffield Wednesday just before kick-off when his knee locked but Carvalhal was aways confident he would feature against the Seagulls.
Speaking this lunchtime, the Swans boss (pictured above) said: “Alfie is okay, he is training. He recovers as we expected so there is no problem and he will available in the game.
“He is fit. He locked the knee. Usually when he has done it, we put the pincode in and it unlocked.”
Britton has been out since November with a pelvic injury and returned to training today.
Carvalhal respects Albion’s home record.
He said: “It will be difficult, they are good at home but we can create problems for them.
“We have had a week to prepare, we have prepared specifically for them, they have weak points as all teams do and we will try and explore them.
“It’s an important fight and an important game for both teams.”
