Pascal Gross has vowed not to be a one-season wonder for Albion.

He believes he can still improve - but he is not expecting a return to the international stage with world champions Germany.

Gross has made a big impact in the Premier League with the Seagulls. He has six goals and eight assists and has been voted Player of the Season by supporters.

Asked if it will be tougher for him next season, Gross, 26, told The Argus: “I don’t know, I don’t think too much about other people. I know they will look at me, but I know also my strengths and my hard work.

“I think when I work very hard and improve, it’s not easy to play against me or to play against us as a team.

“I believe in myself. I know it comes from hard work and if I work very hard I get something back, that’s what I think, that’s how I aim.

“I hope I can improve. I am still at an age where I think I can. I want to get better. It’s not easy to improve when you are at a high level, but there is a lot of stuff to improve, maybe heading and also in games some small stuff.”

Gross represented German at under-18 and under-19 levels. He has ambitions to play for his country again but admits it is unlikely.

“It’s a dream, no more,” he said. “You have to be realistic. To represent your country is the dream of everybody. Dunky (Lewis Dunk), it’s his dream for sure to play for England.

“It’s the same for me and my country. My chances increase in the Premier League, but it’s still tough. A dream is a good word for it.”
