ALBION’S World Cup trio are in danger of early exits.
Winger Jose Izquierdo’s Colombia were beaten 2-1 by Japan yesterday to complete a hat-trick of defeats for the Seagulls on duty in Russia.
Goalkeeper Mathew Ryan and defender Leon Balogun had already lost their opening group games with Australia and Nigeria respectively.
All three need results in their second matches of three to keep alive hopes of progressing through to the last 16.
Ryan’s Australia face Denmark tomorrow (1pm), while Balogun is back in action with Nigeria on Friday against Iceland (4pm).
Izquierdo’s Colombia take on Poland on Sunday night (7pm). Poland are also desperate for a result after losing 2-1 yesterday to Senegal.
Izquierdo said: “Everyone knows we still depend on ourselves. We’ve got two finals.”
