Tommy Elphick has warned there is still plenty of work to do as Albion try to pull away from trouble.
The big centre-back was man-of-the-match for an outstanding performance in a goalless draw at fourth-placed Colchester.
The point followed back-to-back wins against Charlton and Exeter but Elphick is not getting carried away.
He said: “We have got to keep banging away now because we are not clear yet and the job is only half done. We haven’t done anything yet, we made that clear before the game. We have only got a point, we haven’t got three and we are still catchable. We have got to keep working hard in training and keep picking up points.”
Elphick also heaped praise on his fellow defenders for helping Albion withstand an aerial barrage from Colchester.
He added: “I have collected the man-of-the-match but this is testament to the whole back four and big Brez (Peter Brezovan) behind us. You can’t keep a clean sheet on your own.”
Albion will today complete the extension of Kazenga LuaLua’s loan from Newcastle for the rest of the season.
