Dean Cox scored a hat-trick as Albion Reserves eased through to the last four of the Sussex Senior Cup last night.
Nicky Forster, Lewis Dunk and Gary Hart were also on target as a strong second string beat Eastbourne United 6-0 at Culver Road in front of Gus Poyet.
Forster, fresh from his contribution to the first team’s win over Brentford the previous evening, opened the scoring on 21 minutes with a crisply struck drive.
Cox, who has not featured in the first team since January, got his first and set up Hart for a super finish as Albion killed the contest with two more goals just before the break.
Dunk’s goal came from a chance created by his defensive side-kick Adam Virgo.
Seb Carole got 70 minutes in an unaccustomed central midfield role.
The Seagulls will face Hastings or Shoreham in the semi-finals.
Albion Res: Walker; Cook, Virgo, Dunk, McNulty; Brinkhurst, Carole (Thomson 70), Smith, Cox; Forster (Wilkins 70), Hart (Barker 63). Unused subs: James, Cooper.
