10:23am Thursday 13th January 2011 in Albion By Andy Naylor
Albion assistant Mauricio Taricco is relaxed about Scunthorpe's interest in top scorer Glenn Murray.
Scunthorpe chief Ian Baraclough has admitted he would like to sign Murray but does not expect to get him.
Taricco said: "Of course we are aware that, because of the way the players are performing, they are going to attract attention. We are doing well as a team and so obviously are the players as individuals. It's going to happen.
"The way we are performing it was a matter of time. These things will happen, because if you play a good style of football and the strikers are scoring goals and defenders are not letting goals in then attention is coming for sure. It's normal."
Matt Sparrow, Albion's ex-Scunthorpe midfielder, says he is not surprised by his old club's interest in Murray but has never seen the striker in a better mood.
"We've got some great players here. Quite a few of them are up in ther summer as well (contracts), so there is bound to be speculation in January.
"Glenn keeps reminding everyone about his goals. He is on fire. He is sharp, he is buzzing about, to be honest I have never seen him so happy compared to what he was like at the beginning of the season. For Glenn Murray he is a bit bubbly!
"He is smiling every day at the moment. He is probably as happy at home as well. He is scoring in training and when it comes to match days."

This was reported yesterday by Sky but today they are stating that Scunthorpe have withdrawn their interest because the Albion rebuffed them!
Amazed The Argus are so far behind on this story?
Great news for the Albion tho!
