Albion unfazed by Murray interest

Albion assistant Mauricio Taricco is relaxed about Scunthorpe's interest in top scorer Glenn Murray.

Scunthorpe chief Ian Baraclough has admitted he would like to sign Murray but does not expect to get him.

Taricco said: "Of course we are aware that, because of the way the players are performing, they are going to attract attention. We are doing well as a team and so obviously are the players as individuals. It's going to happen.

"The way we are performing it was a matter of time. These things will happen, because if you play a good style of football and the strikers are scoring goals and defenders are not letting goals in then attention is coming for sure. It's normal."

Matt Sparrow, Albion's ex-Scunthorpe midfielder, says he is not surprised by his old club's interest in Murray but has never seen the striker in a better mood.

"We've got some great players here. Quite a few of them are up in ther summer as well (contracts), so there is bound to be speculation in January.

"Glenn keeps reminding everyone about his goals. He is on fire. He is sharp, he is buzzing about, to be honest I have never seen him so happy compared to what he was like at the beginning of the season. For Glenn Murray he is a bit bubbly!

"He is smiling every day at the moment. He is probably as happy at home as well. He is scoring in training and when it comes to match days."

Keep up at the back!
This was reported yesterday by Sky but today they are stating that Scunthorpe have withdrawn their interest because the Albion rebuffed them!
Amazed The Argus are so far behind on this story?
Great news for the Albion tho!

Can't see why Murray would want to go to a tin-pot club like Scunthorpe. They have awful support, rubbish ground and are over-achieving in all accounts. Sheffield Wednesday are more likely to tempt Glenn.

It is the parasites known as Agents that we have to be wary of. They have no loyalty, except to their wallets, don't get the abuse from supporters, yet are usually the one's instigating the move, whether it is good for the player or not, as long as there is a good % for them!

Great to hear the comments about Muzza from Matt Sparrow.

What it all points to ever more clearly, is the level to which Glenn is a confidence player.

This can no doubt be a frustrating quality for fans to experience (and indeed the player himself, in all probability!!!) but when it reaches a peak it is great to behold the results.

Let's hope he can maintain his peak form for the remainder of the season and stay aboard the Gus Bus!
